Request a refund
If you paid in the iPhone app, you paid Apple, and only Apple can refund it. Roomie never sees your card details for those purchases and has no way to return the money. The app has a button that sends the request straight to Apple, which is the fastest route.
If you paid on the Roomie website, we take the payment and we can refund it. Get in touch and we will sort it out.
If you paid in the iPhone app
Open Roomie, go to My Profile, and tap Purchases and subscriptions.
It is under the Subscription heading, near the bottom of the screen.
Scroll to Recent purchases and find the one you want refunded.
Each row shows what it was and the date it was bought. Subscriptions, Boosts and ad removal all appear here.
Tap the three dots on that row and choose Request Refund.
The dots are at the right-hand end of the row.
Pick a reason in the Apple sheet and submit it.
The sheet that opens is Apple’s, not ours. Apple reviews the request and emails you its decision, usually within a couple of days. Roomie is not told the outcome and cannot speed it up.
If you paid on the website
Get in touch and tell us what you paid for and roughly when.
Use the email address on your Roomie account if you can, so we can find the payment. A receipt or the last four digits of the card helps but is not required.
Watch for the refund on your statement.
Once we issue it, the money goes back to the card you paid with. Your bank usually takes five to ten days to show it.
Apple decides App Store refunds, not Roomie. We cannot approve one, overturn a rejection, or find out where yours is. If Apple turns the request down, you can appeal to Apple directly at reportaproblem.apple.com.
A refund is not the same as a cancellation. Refunding one charge does not stop the next one, so cancel the subscription as well if you do not want it to renew.
If you were charged for something you do not remember buying, check whether someone else uses your Apple Account, and check whether the charge is actually a subscription renewing rather than a new purchase. The renewal date on the Roomie Pro screen will tell you.
