Delete your Roomie account
Deleting your account removes your profile, so you stop showing up in the feed, and takes your listings and conversations with it. It cannot be undone.
If you pay for Roomie Pro, cancel that first. Deleting your account does not cancel the subscription.
If you have Roomie Pro, cancel it before you go any further.
Your subscription is held by Apple, or by Stripe if you bought it on the website, and it keeps renewing after your account is gone. Manage or cancel Roomie Pro walks through both.
Open the My Profile tab.
The person icon in the bar along the bottom.
Scroll to the very bottom and tap Delete account.
It is the red text just below Log out.
Tell us why you are leaving, if you like.
The box is optional. Leave it empty and carry on if you would rather not say.
Tap Continue.
The button stays faded for a moment while the app checks whether you have an active subscription. If it finds one, you are asked to cancel it first. Tap Manage Subscription to do that, or Delete Anyway if you have already handled it.
Tap Yes, delete my account.
This is the last step. Your account is deleted straight away and you are signed out. Tap Cancel instead if you have changed your mind.
Do not rely on the app to catch a subscription for you. The warning only appears if the check finishes in time, so on a slow connection you can go straight past it. Cancel Roomie Pro first, then delete.
Deleting the Roomie app from your phone is not the same as deleting your account, and neither one cancels an App Store subscription. Only cancelling in the App Store settings does that.
If you subscribed on the website, the warning offers Contact Us instead of Manage Subscription, because a website subscription can only be cancelled on the website. Sign in at theroomieapp.com and cancel it there.
If you only want a break, you do not have to delete anything. Logging out, or hiding your profile, keeps your account for when you come back.
